In addition to a suite of interactive, evidence based healthy lifestyle programs, Diabetes WA also offers a range of other services.
These include self-management programs for people who have been diagnosed with Diabetes:
It also includes the Smart series of programs which encompass CookSmart, ShopSmart, ShopSmart in a Classroom, MeterSmart, CarbSmart and FootSmart. These programs are suitable for people living with either type 1 or type 2 diabetes and are delivered in a group education style format.
Diabetes WA also runs the Diabetes WA Information and Advice Line (DIAL). It is a confidential service via which people living with diabetes can seek assistance from a qualified and credentialled diabetes educator. The service can be accessed between 8:30am and 4:30pm weekdays by calling 1300 136 588. Alternatively, people are also welcome to email a diabetes educator for a confidential response at firstname.lastname@example.org.
